There are many shopping discount and points sites out there and they can be a great way to save at least a little of the money you splash out online. How do they work?
Well basically you sign up as a member - it is almost always free – and every time you link through to a partner shopping site from the cash back site, you get a small percentage back as a credit. They also offer a wide range of sale items by partner such as an Amazon discount or Ebay discounts.
You can track your credit online and it is usually awarded about 6 weeks after you have bought the items – in case you decide to return the goods in which case you are no longer eligible.
You can then get the money, either as a bank transfer to your account or in shopping vouchers depending on the site and the terms and conditions.
They are good if you would have spent the money anyway because at least you get back a couple of percent on what you have spent - so for things such as booking hotels and transport, it could really add up. It is not so good if you end up buying things which you do not really need or if you pay a higher price for them.
