When choosing your laptop it is tempting to go for the cheapest on offer. It is a very competitive market and there are many companies out there vying for your business, so if you look carefully you are sure to find a good deal. But if possible don't just plump for the cheapest – or the most fashionable looking!
Ask yourself some questions to help you to find the best one for you. What will you be using it for? If you just want it for internet access and a few word processing or spreadsheet applications then a basic one might suffice. But if you intend to store large video files or run programmes which take up a lot of memory then you will need one with a high capacity hard drive.
If you intend to use it for games, then make sure that you have one with good quality graphics card. And if you are going to listen to music on it make sure that you test out the speaker system in the shop to check the quality.
Also very important is the quality of the service. I have had many brands over the years for work and pleasure and two stick in my mind for different reasons. One brand broke down and had to be sent back to the manufacturer, resulting in being without it for several weeks. The other brand sent a repair man to my home and it was fixed within 48 hours. Be warned!
